AAP video showing African women exchanging drugs, AAP released video, video released by AAP
New Delhi: Even as the Congress and the BJP continue to target Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti and put pressure on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to act against him, the Aam Aadmi Party has released a video which according to it shows the African women exchanging drugs. The party said that the video showed that Bharti did nothing wrong.
Bharti had conducted a raid in Khirki extension and accused some Ugandan women of being involved in prostitution and drug trafficking.
AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey said, “There were rumors that the AAP volunteers caught those foreign women whereas they were caught by the police. Video itself is the proof as it shows exchange of white powder inside the car.”
The Ugandan women continue to stick by their statement. One of them said, “Being black is a problem. They used racist remarks.”
Earlier on Friday there was high drama at the Delhi Commission for Women as Bharti failed to appear and sent his lawyers who got into a heated exchange with the office bearers.
DCW chief Barkha Singh said, “Bharti’s lawyer misbehaved and shouted at me. I am going to complain to the Lieutenant Governor.”
Bharti lawyer Rishikesh Kumar said, “We were not being allowed to be heard.”
Meanwhile, Bharti was busy attending a kite festival. He refused to explain why he hadn’t deposed even as the pressure to sack him continues to grow. BJP leader Vijay Goel said, “BJP will keep protesting till Somnath Bharti is removed from his post.”
What remains to be seen is will AAP give in to demands of sacking Bharti or will it continue to back their minister despite growing pressure.
