There was speculation in media that comedian Ali was all set to join the TDP and he is going to contest in the2014 elections for the MLA seat from Rajahmundry.

Clearing the air, Ali has reportedly met TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and discuss over his political entry. He has also expressed his wish to contest from Rajahmundry. Naidu welcomed Ali decision to come into politics and has advised him to contest from Guntur, where minority population are more in number.

Ali is yet to decide over his constituency and the officialconfirmation from TDP is not yet out.

It’s a tough task for Kannada’s movie makers to select heroine for Power Star Puneet Rajkumar. Though Ranavikrama was announced long back, the makers are still not able decide the female lead for the movie. The film, which stars Puneet Rajkumar in the lead role is likely to rope in other language heroine for the female lead.

Early this month, the rumour mills were doing the rounds in Gandhinagara that the makers of Ranavikrama have approached South lass Tamanna Bhatia for the female lead. But now the latest buzz from Kollywood says that the crew is aiming to rope in multi-lingual actress Shruti Hassan to pair opposite Puneet in the movie.

If the information from the sources are true, then after Kollywood queen Trisha Krishnan and Kajal Aggarwal, Shruti will be another Tamil girl in recent days to make her Kannada debut. Coincidentally the trio will be paired opposite the same actor in three different movies. Ranavikrama is touted to be an action thriller which also has the subject of triangular love story.

Shruti Hassan’s Desire To Work In Kannada It is said that Shruti Hassan has expressed her wish to work in a Kannada movie that too with top star.

Ajith-Gautham Menon’s new film is yet to kick-off, but the buzz surrounding the film’s release date has already started doing the rounds. Ajith-Gautham Menon film will be a quickie and will be completed within five months. The film is likely to get released in the month of September. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.

Gautham has reportedly readied a full bounded script and has also got approval from the concerned people. “#Thala55 Update – Finally things r falling in place. @menongautham script approved by all concerned, casting & logistics being worked out,” entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted.

Ajith is said to be working hard in the gym to sport a slim, stylish look required for the film. Details about the film’s cast and other crew members are yet to be revealed. Earlier, Anushka was reported to play the female lead for Ajith but later speculations were rife that the actress will not be part of the project. As of now, it is not clear whether Anushka will be cast in the Gautham Menon directorial.

The film is not yet titled, but is tentatively called as “Thala 55″ as it is Ajith’s 55th film. This will be the first time that the actor will be teaming up with Gautham, who is known for several critically-acclaimed films such as “Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu”, “Khakka khakka”, “Vaaranam Aayiram” and “Vinnaithandi Varuvaya” among others.

Music has been a major aspect in all Gautham’s films and songs in his films have turned out to be chartbusters. While the director has worked with the likes of Harrish Jeyaraj, AR Rahman and Ilayaraja in his earlier releases, he will reportedly team up with the youngest hit machine of Kollywood – composer Anirudh – for Ajith’s film.The untitled flick, which is produced by AM Ratnam, is expected to go on floors in March.

Story:

The film’s main protagonists Trisha (Vidya) and Siddharth (Farhan) move beyond dating days and tie the nuptial knot. Everything goes fine in their married life until Trisha wishes to get pregnant. Though her loving husband doesn’t want a baby before he gets settled but he becomes a proud father of a baby girl. Their relationship begins to take a backseat as the child comes into the picture.

While Trisha becomes a full-time mother, Siddharth has to put his musical career to rest and starts singing lullabies for his little girl. ‘Pillow talk’ turns to ‘potty talk’ and the warmth of their relationship starts to get vanished. Siddharth, who begins to miss his earlier life, seeks advice from his brother-in-law played by Ram Kapoor.

How Siddharth sails through the problems with his brother-in-law’s advice forms the rest of the plot. This movie will definitely strike a chord with all the married men.

He says it. She disagrees. He reacts. She overacts. He makes mistakes, he says sorry. She makes mistakes, ‘he’ says sorry. So there! Even geniuses like Socrates and Einstein couldn’t crack a fool-proof plan to a ‘happy marriage’. Even novel cosmic concepts like Men are from Mars and Women are from all over the place (lol!) can’t explain this ‘heavenly’ intervention. So then? Let’s take a look at Saket Chaudhary’s insightful story of shaadi and its shocking effects.

Sid’s (Farhan) married life seems to be rocking with his adventurous wife Trisha (Vidya), until a chance ‘unprotected’ moment of pleasure lands them with a ‘bundle’ of unwanted problems. He puts his musical ambitions to rest, from composing jingles to singing lullabies for his little girl (even breaking into ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ – Wake up, Guns ‘n’ Roses! Hilarious!).

Trisha turns into an idiosyncratic, full-time mommy and Sid is left missing their lovely ‘twosome’ life. Pillow talk turns to potty talk and spousal spasms crawl into their shaadi, leading Sid to seek advice from bro-in-law (Ram Kapoor, lending good support). Does the quick-fix save-the-shaadi solution create more cracks, or stoke the chemistry? The best part is that Sid and Trisha don’t ‘fake’ it. Ever! They are believable characters living real life situations. Yet, their quirkiness leaves you with delightful guffaws. Saket’s story (sequel to ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’) pulls everything together skillfully, with conversations that turn into epigrams and chemistry that exudes wit and lovability. There’s nothing schmaltzy or superficial about it.

The director strikes a fine balance between humour and emotion in this slice-of-marriage story. The first half takes a while to catch up, but the dialogues (Arshad Sayed) provide ample laughs, while giving wisdom for wedded bliss. Vir Das in his funky avatar is a riot. Vidya is brilliant and hits a high note in the emotional scenes. The film belongs to Farhan who stuns you with his straight-faced witticisms and plethora of expressions that amuse and move dramatically.

Single or married, this film will have more of a ‘special effect’ than ‘side effect’ on you.

Basanthi is a Love cum Terror Hostage Drama. 

BoxOffice Verdict :

The film was made on a low budget and found buyers in many areas. The Director who has got many laurels for his `Baanam` is the sole reason for the confidence shown by Trade. But this is hardly the film one expected from him. It neither serves the Urban viewers nor goes the Commercial route.

Vijay and Mohanlal’s Jilla, directed by Neason and produced by Super Good Films, enters its 50th day today in a few screens across Tamil Nadu. Vijay-Mohanlal’s “Jilla” performed exceptionally well at the box office, despite facing strong competition from Ajith’s “Veeram.”

Directed by RT Neason, “Jilla” is an action-packed entertainer with Vijay and Mohanlal in lead roles. After “Thuppakki”, Kajal Aggarwal teamed up with Vijay for the second time. The film had Poornima Bhagyaraj, Soori, Mahat Raghavendra and Nivedha Thomas in supporting roles.

The action flick took a fantastic opening on the first day of its release not just in Tamil Nadu, but also in Kerala. The presence of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Vijay helped “Jilla” register the best-ever opening for any film in the state.

The performances of both the actors won accolades from all quarters. The film’s songs and the background score were a major plus. The songs, composed by Imman, turned out to be chartbusters and gave a big boost to the film.

With the success of “Jilla”, Vijay and his fans would be relieved considering that the actor’s earlier release “Thalaivaa”, which was mired in some controversy, failed to set the cash registers ringing.

Vijay would be hoping to sustain his successful run with his upcoming film, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film’s shooting is currently progressing at a brisk and it is likely to get released this year itself.

Ajith and director Siva’s Pongal offering, Veeram enters its 50th day today in a few screens across Tamil Nadu.

After doing back-to-back stylish action flicks, Ajith took up a village-based subject like “Veeram.” Thala’s (as he is fondly referred by his fans) dhoti clad appearance and his famous salt and pepper look received rave comments from the fans.

The actor appeared in the role of an elder brother to four siblings played by Vidarth, Bala, Munish and Suhail. For the first time, he teamed up with Tammanaah in the film, directed by “Siruthai” Siva.

ass masala entertainer with all the commercial elements including action, sentiments, romance, comedy, punch dialogues and songs. The film received mixed reviews from critics upon its release. However, Ajith fans lapped it up and gave big thumbs up for the action entertainer. Families too thronged the theatres to watch the film.
